Sphere LED Mechanical Display 146p
This system is designed to display spherical images. It has a relatively high dot density, which is achieved by the unique image output principle.
- 146 pixels by vertical
- control and fleshing firmware using Bluetooth
- motor control by the main board
- wall mount
- isolated case
On the arc surfaces the LEDs are placed with a vertical offset. During the rotation of such a design forms a complete picture, visually it seems that the LEDs are close to each other. The advantages of this design can also include – even weight distribution and as a consequence, minimizing vibration.
The design features of the housing forced the developer to divide the rotating module into three parts. All parts are designed for double-sided mounting.
The information display system consists of two geometrically identical half-arcs, in the edge of which SMD LEDs are mounted.
The half-arcs are connected inside the sphere to the control board.
The information processing is managed by a high-performance STM32 microprocessor. The Bluetooth wireless module allows you to flash the device without using wires, and it can also can be used to change the display modes of the device.
The following picture shows the motor control board. This module generates PWM pulses, which allows you to set the desired speed of the motor axis. The motor control system is equipped with a current sense. The sense protects the motor from overload. A transistor key allows to stop or start the motor on command from the rotating part using IR impulses.
